A native New Yorker, Mark Teschner has been a Casting Director for 43 years. He has been described by “Rolling Stone” magazine as an “actor’s casting director” and “TV Guide” noted his “unparalleled track record for finding top new talent”.
For the past 35 years Mark has been the Casting Director for ABC’s “General Hospital.” He has received eleven Daytime Emmy Awards for “Outstanding Achievement in Casting” and is also a seven-time recipient of the Casting Society of America’s prestigious Artios Award for “Outstanding Achievement in Daytime Drama Casting.”
Mark is also a former Vice President of the Casting Society of America, and has served as a Governor of the Television Academy.

As a Casting Director and Acting Teacher for over 4 decades, I have auditioned and hired thousands of actors. I have cast Broadway, Off Broadway, Regional Theater, Television pilots and Daytime Dramas. I know what it takes to book a role – and OWN THE ROOM.
I have taught thousands of students. My goal as a teacher –and coach– is to help each actor to connect to their uniqueness and create powerful work.
So when you coach with me, you are actually getting a hybrid: an acting coach with the eye of a Casting Director. I love actors and have a unique ability to communicate with them.
My coaching is not about Daytime, it is about ANY TIME. My coaching is about unlocking what is unique and dynamic about each actor so they can create memorable work – and auditions. Every actor is different and I help bring out their authenticity.

AUDITION COACHING
My Audition Coaching is about helping actors make strong choices and bringing out what is special about them into their work. It is about helping each actor to feel confident with who they are as an actor – and as a person. This lays the foundation for great auditions.
SELF TAPES
When you Self Tape with me you are getting the benefit of an acting teacher/coach working with you to get the best performance. And as a Casting Director who constantly views self tapes I know how to create memorable work.
ONGOING PRIVATE COACHING
Many actors prefer to work with me on a regular basis via Ongoing Private Coaching, considering this a private class. We work intensely on the craft of acting where I choose material that I feel will challenge each actor and expand their range.

I work with actors all over the country via Skype Coaching, including Los Angeles based actors that need both private coaching and audition coaching.
